The WARA Primary health clinics in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi are staffed with physicians trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. We ensure that Subscribers receive the levels of care that they are accustomed to. All the WARA clinics provide Primary health care, emergency medical care and occupational health services. Emergency services are available 24/7 with resident Doctors in all bases and are supported by a fully equipped emergency rooms.

Emergency Care and Access to Internationally Trained Medical Team All Subscribers enrolled under the WARA Plan receive access to the physicians working at the WARA Clinics for routine medical consultations during normal clinic working hours and to the resident physicians 24/7 for emergency treatment and care. The training and credentials of the WARA medical professionals meet stringent standards for medical professionals. |

Consultation for Diagnosis and Treatment WARA provides General Practitioner consultations, which include initial GP/Doctor consultation, provision of pharmaceuticals required and specific diagnostic testing determined to support diagnosis and treatment of particular medical problems. |

Specialist Consultations and Referrals WARA has developed a well-established network of accredited providers and medical specialists to whom we can make professional referrals to support our subscriber’s specialist needs. After appointments medical reports from specialists are reviewed and inserted into the patient’s WARA clinic file. In Accra the clinic has a pediatrician, psychiatrist, psychologist, dietician and orthopedic regularly consulting in house on certain days of the week. In the event that a patient requires emergency treatment or further specialty care not available in country, the global network of our affiliate, International SOS assistance centers will coordinate a repatriation and further care out of country to the nearest center of medical excellence. |

General Minor Procedures In addition to primary and emergency healthcare, WARA clinics can provide minor procedural support, such as wound dressings, pap smears, uncomplicated laceration suturing, removal of small foreign bodies, ear syringing, simple incision and drainage, and cast applications and removal. The WARA clinics provide medical support to assist in stabilising a patient in preparation for a secondary (international/out of country) medical evacuation (if required). Please note that medical evacuation and repatriation is not covered under the Plan. |

Pharmacy All WARA Primary Health Clinics have a well-stocked, in-house pharmacy. All pharmaceutical supplies are either imported or procured from reputable national pharmaceutical distributors, assuring high quality medicines, vaccines and medical consumables. WARA clinics also keep suitable stocks of all emergency medications to support our subscribers’ needs. |

Diagnostics Services The Takoradi and Accra Clinics have their own on site point of care laboratories run by an internationally accredited laboratory service provider. The Kumasi clinic is supported by dispatch drivers to their main depot. Laboratory tests not done remotely are either supported by the main laboratory in Accra or their mother laboratory in South Africa. Diagnostic capabilities on site at WARA clinics include: ECG, Spirometry, audiometry, and visual acuity testing. Takoradi has in addition a digital x-ray capability at the occupational health clinic. A network of approved external diagnostic providers are used within Ghana for more comprehensive tests such as CT and MRI Scans, stress ECGs, Holter ECG, etc. Third party service providers have all been medically audited by WARA to ensure the quality of services and results are of an acceptable standard. Malaria Programme All WARA clinics are equipped to provide rapid malaria diagnostic testing and all our doctors are experienced in tropical disease handling and able to provide comprehensive treatment of malaria. WARA can also supply Malaria test kits to subscribers along with consultations to ensure appropriate use of rapid tests, upon request. |
